The East Coast's most challenging and friendly regatta

Burnham Week 2024 is ready to go!

Burnham Week 2024 is ready to go!

Entries are rolling in and we are delighted that all competitors have been invited to a Welcome Reception at the Burnham Sailing Club (west end of the Quay) to kick off the week between 6.15pm – 7.15pm on Friday 23rd August.  On arrival there will be a drinks voucher for each helm to collect – with enough to share with the crews that have been registered on the website for the event.  If you haven’t registered your crew please email details to:  info@burnhamweek.com

This sets the mood for 8 days of competitive sailing and fun. Within the week there are daily races for cruisers and day boats as well as dinghy regattas over the weekend – the largest fleet are the Squibs and they are joined by their bilge keeled sisters, the Sandhoppers, visiting from Thorpe Bay and Maylandsea.

There’s an impressive fleet of the oldest, and arguably most beautiful, classics – the East Coast One Designs – dating from 1913. The Royal Corinthian and Royal Burnham each have their own classics from the 1930s and there is also a fleet of more modern RS Elites. Cruisers are in separate fleets for racy rated Classes 1 and 2 as well as a local white sails class. Events include GIG Racing on Saturday 24th August to watch from RCYC.

This year’s t-shirts are a high quality, stylish design – please order now from www.burnhamweek.stitchprint.co.uk/shop  to get yours for the week.  And study the social programme on the website:  www.burnhamweek.com//social/ to book your nights out – popular evenings do get full – and see where the bands or discos are happening.
