Message from the Race Officer

I’d like to welcome you to our 2017 Burnham Week Regatta. The week will have its own Burnham Week atmosphere both on and off the water, leading to a fantastic regatta experience with more boats, more classes. My aim as Race Officer has been to retain the traditional one race per day aspect of the week which appeals to so many of you whilst adapting the dinghy and gig racing to encourage entries from new classes with two or more races per day for the Bank Holiday Weekend. Starts and finishes from Phoebe at Pile House
The four organising clubs have been working tirelessly to make this one hundred and twenty fifth a regatta to remember. We already have a promising entry from IRC to Gigs, but if you have a boat on the moorings or in the marina you may be competitive in one of our Cruiser Fleets using the Class five and six handicapping system.
The Town Cup this year will be the first to see the changes to the regatta over the next few years. This year’s Town Cup will be series of three races to be sailed Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th and the last race on the final Saturday September 2nd, all three races to count. Looking forward to seeing you on the water, in the clubs, and at the prize giving’s.
